This tour takes you
on a breathtaking journey through
the Flinders Ranges, Clare Valley
and the Australian Outback.
Day 1:
Leave
Sydney on Wednesday afternoon with
the world famous Indian Pacific
Train and travel first through the
magnificent Blue Mountains, then
through country New South Wales and
the outback to Broken Hill. Your
accommodation tonight will be a
First Class Cabin aboard the train.
Day 2:
You
will be met at the Broken Hill train
station upon arrival of the Indian
Pacific Train for transfer to your
accommodation. This whole day is at
your leisure but your guide will
have suggestions for interesting
places you can visit within easy
walking distance from your
accommodation.
Day 3:
You
will be collected at your
accommodation. Leaving Broken Hill
we immediately feel the remoteness
of the outback; broad landscapes of
beauty as we travel along the
Barrier Highway. We cross into South
Australia at Yunta where we leave
the grass and saltbush plains,
climbing into the foothills of the
Flinders Ranges. Lunch provides
another highlight at Erudina
Station’s remote woolshed. From here
we continue our journey through the
Flinders Ranges to Wilpena Pound,
our base for the next two nights.
Day 4:
A
full day of Flinders Ranges scenery
and a spectacular scenic flight over
the “Pound” awaits us. The remainder
of the day will be spent in our four
wheel drive, exploring stunning
landscapes, viewing abundant
wildlife, enjoying a bush picnic
lunch and much more. After an
exciting day we return to Wilpena
Pound for dinner and overnight.
Day 5:
We leave the rugged beauty of the
Flinders Ranges to experience even
more of the numerous delights South
Australia has to offer: The Clare
Valley Wine Region has over 30
recognised wine growers and of
course we sample some of the local
produce. Enjoy a nice lunch at one
of the more famous wineries. A
leisurely afternoon drive takes us
to Adelaide where we transfer you to
the Train Station in time to depart
on the famous “Ghan”, for an
overnight journey to Alice Springs.

Day 6:
You
will arrive in Alice Springs at
approximately 11:55AM
