Centre and explore the awesome Uluru
(Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (Olgas)
then walk into Kings Canyon with its
towering walls of rock. Finish your
adventure in the famous outback town
of Alice Springs.
Day 1:
Kata Tjuta (the Olgas),
Walpa Gorge, Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Sunset.
Welcomed on arrival at Ayers Rock
Airport prior to 1.00pm and transfer
to your hotel. This afternoon drive
out to Kata Tjuta, a magnificent
cluster of 36 domes which dominates
the western skyline of the park.
Enjoy the opportunity to join a walk
into Walpa (Olga) Gorge, where some
of the plants are so rare that they
are only found in and around these
distinct sandstone monoliths. Tales
of the Tjukurpa (Dreamtime) period
are closely linked to the domes of
Kata Tjuta. Stop and enjoy a
complimentary glass of wine with our
compliments as you watch the ever
changing colours of Uluru.

Day 2:
Uluru
Base Tour, Kings Canyon.
Rise early and enjoy a cup of tea or
coffee as the day's first light
strikes Uluru. With the sun still
climbing, take a guided walk to
Mutitjulu waterhole. See cave
paintings and hear the legends of
Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming).
Tour the base of Uluru before
joining your guide and learn about
the geology and flora of the region
on the Mala Walk. Explore Kantju
Gorge before visiting the Cultural
Centre and Maruku Arts and Craft
Cooperative to see Aboriginal
artists at work. Alternatively, you
can forgo the Guided Mutitjulu &
Mala walks to climb Uluru and stand
348 metres above the desert floor.
This afternoon journey to Kings
Canyon.

Day 3: Kings Canyon
Enjoy a guided walk to the rim of
Kings Canyon and through the 'Lost
City' and 'Garden of Eden' (requires
a good degree of fitness). An
alternative walk along the canyon
floor is available. This afternoon
travel via Kings Creek Station to
Alice Springs, returning
approximately 6:30pm. |
