An early start for a fantastic
day. After being picked up
from your accommodation at
6am, your guide will drive you
through some of the Top Ends
tropical savanna grasslands
out to the Flora River Nature
Park. Here is where the
journey really begins, on the
Flora River. Amazing Calcium
Karst 'Tufa Dams' line the
river, Pandanus, Paperbarks
and Livistonia Palms bordering
either side. Crystal clear
waters, fish, turtles, plenty
of bird life and of course the
occasional croc.
A day of relaxing and a day of
adventure, an experience that
you would be unlikely to find
anywhere else in Australia.
Definitely worth the early
morning start.

7 days gives us time to
immerse ourselves in the
wilderness, away from
immediate civilisation and
deep in the tropical savanna
outback. Taking in the best
of both the Katherine and
Daly Rivers, we are now able
to explore probably the most
fascinating and inspiring
spring fed river system in
the country. The Flora River
is a unique emerald coloured
system which is deep and
clear. View the limestone
formations constantly
growing across the river on
jewelled 'dam like'
barrages, and see if you can
spot the rare Pig Nosed
Turtle in the clear, sandy
depths. |
