Cruise along the tranquil waters while your guide provides informative commentary on the region’s natural history and wildlife. Keep a look out for saltwater crocodiles. After lunch at Cooinda, tour through galleries of rock art at Nourlangie Rock, one of the most significant Aboriginal art sites in the park. (L)

Day 2: Arnhem Land by 4-Wheel Drive.
Journey across the East Alligator River into Arnhem Land. Aboriginal-owned, Arnhem Land is one of Australia’s most remote and least traversed regions. Travel to the rarely visited Mikinj Valley with its sandstone outcrops, escarpments, floodplains and billabongs. With special permission from the Manilakarr people, visit places inaccessible to most. Hear of traditional land ownership, learn bush skills of hunting and gathering and how to prepare bush tucker. View ancient Aboriginal rock art in its most natural state – no barriers or fences. Most tours are led or accompanied by an Aboriginal guide. Returning to Darwin, stop at Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine on the viewing deck overlooking the floodplains. (L)
Accommodation: Darwin - choice of hotel

Day 3: Litchfield National Park, Darwin
Today journey into beautiful Litchfield National Park. Home to sandstone outcrops, monsoonal rainforest and year-round waterfalls, Litchfield offers stunning scenery. View the intriguing magnetic termite mounds and the spectacular double waterfall of Florence Falls. Continue on to the stunning Tolmer Falls. At Wangi Falls enjoy a swim (conditions permitting) or take a nature walk through the surrounding bush to the top of the falls for a bird’s-eye view. Return to Darwin. (L)
