National Park. From ancient

wetland regions into Kakadu National
Park. After crossing the South
Alligator River we begin to explore
the World Heritage Area of Ubirr
Rock where we climb up through the
ancient Aboriginal rock art
galleries to the lookout for the
famous view over surrounding
wetlands. We then visit the Bowali

Day 3: Jim Jim & Twin Falls
A truly enjoyable day exploring the
majestic beauty of Jim Jim and Twin
Falls. Access to Jim Jim Gorge is by
a 900 metre walk over rocks. Active
people have no problems. The falls
may not flow throughout the dry
season, but if there has been a
reasonable wet season they will
still be running up until late
August and the plunge pool at the
base of Jim Jim provides the
opportunity for a welcome swim
throughout the year. The surrounding
gorges are a spectacle to behold as
the rock colours continuously change
with the suns’ position. Access to
Twin Falls is by a short easy stroll
to the edge of the stream and then a
short boat trip up the gorge area to
the beach at the base of these
beautiful falls, with time to relax
in the spectacular scenery that you
are bound to remember for a long
time. Travel to Jim Jim & Twin may be
in a side-facing Troop Carrier tour
vehicle.
Accommodation: Jabiru – choice
of hotel or cabin
(Continental Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 4:
Arnhem Land
Today we depart from Jabiru and
visit remote, mysterious and
restricted areas of Kakadu and
Arnhem Land. Arnhem Land is
Aboriginal land – a unique area
where Aboriginal people live a
lifestyle more closely linked to
their true culture and heritage.
This 4WD tour will visit Mikinj
Valley, a superbly scenic area of
sandstone outcrops and escarpments,
forest, floodplains and billabongs.
This is an area where Aboriginals
have lived for thousands of years
and by arrangement with an
co-operation of the Manilakarr
people, this unique tour will allow
you to see places inaccessible to
most. Hear of traditional land
ownership, learn of bush skills,
hunting, food gathering and
preparation (bush tucker), view
Aboriginal art in its natural state
– no fences or barriers, or other
groups … just art as it was created
many years ago. Return to Jabiru
late afternoon where you will be met
by guide for transfer to Darwin,
stopping briefly at the Bark Hut Inn
for a meal stop (own cost) arrive
Darwin at approximately 9.30pm.
