in the history and culture of this
area, you will cruise amazing
billabongs in Kakadu National Park
and witness the awesome Katherine
Gorge. Then board a 4-wheel drive
and travel through the escarpments,
forests and floodplains of Arnhem
Land on this 7 day tour.
Day 1:
Darwin
Be welcomed on arrival in Darwin and
transferred to your hotel. The
remainder of the day is at your
leisure to explore the gateway to
the Top End.

Day 2:
Kakadu, Rock Art, Yellow Water
Travel into World Heritage-listed
Kakadu National Park. Visit
Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural
Centre, learning the stories that
gave Kakadu’s Aboriginal owners
their legends. Join a guided cruise
on Yellow Water billabong, keeping a
look out for crocodiles and
birdlife. After lunch explore
ancient Aboriginal rock art sites at
Nourlangie Rock. (L)

Day 3:
Arnhem Land by 4WD
Board a 4-wheel drive and travel
through the escarpments, forests,
floodplains and billabongs of Arnhem
Land. Learn about traditional land
ownership, bush skills and hunting
techniques from your Aboriginal
guides. Visit the remote Mikinj
Valley area and explore the Oenpelli
Aboriginal settlement and its famous
art gallery (Mon.-Fri.). Then, with
special permission, visit an ancient
burial site. (L)
Day
4:
Ubirr
Art Site, Guluyambi Cruise
There’s time this morning for an
optional scenic flight over Arnhem
Land (own expense). View Aboriginal
rock art at Ubirr. After lunch join
the Guluyambi Cruise with an
Aboriginal guide. Visit the Bowali
Visitor Centre then stop at Window
on the Wetlands for complimentary
drinks overlooking the floodplains.

Day
5: Litchfield National Park, Wangi
Falls
Entering Litchfield National Park,
visit the double waterfall forming
Florence Falls. Travel to stunning
Tolmer Falls. Continue to Wangi
Falls and enjoy a swim in the rock
pool or take a nature walk to the
top of the falls. On the return trip
to Darwin stop to view the
intriguing magnetic termite mounds. (L)
Day 6:
Katherine Gorge Cruise, Leliyn
(Edith Falls)
Visit the Adelaide River War
Memorial, continuing via Pine Creek
to Nitmiluk National Park, home to
13 stunning gorges. Call into the
Visitors Centre before joining your
guided cruise between the sheer
sandstone cliffs of Katherine Gorge.
As you glide along the tranquil
waters, your guide will detail the
area's plants and wildlife. Stop at
beautiful Leliyn and perhaps take a
refreshing swim in the pool at the
bottom of the falls (conditions
permitting). Return to Darwin. (L)

7: Darwin
Enjoy free time in the tropical city
of Darwin before your transfer to
the airport. |
