lies the Adelaide River,
home to over 1600 crocodiles
and the location of the
famous jumping crocodiles.
This afternoon join the
famous Adelaide River
Jumping Crocodile Cruise.
Your local guide will entice
the crocodiles to leap out
of the water. It is a
fantastic thrill to see
these awesome creatures
launch themselves our of the
water. The cruise will
enable you to see these
prehistoric creatures at
close range. Continue to the
Window on the Wetlands
Visitors Centre for views
over the Marrakai Plains and
then on to Fogg Dam Nature
Reserve, before returning to
Darwin. |

Travel south through tropical
country, passing former WWII
airstrips. We make a short
stop at the Adelaide River War
Cemetery, a site dedicated to
those killed in the air raids
in Darwin in the 1940s.
Continue to Edith Falls, where
there is time for a refreshing
swim in the waterhole beneath
the falls (conditions
permitting). Join a 2 hour
scenic cruise through
Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk
National Park. Enjoy a brief
tour of Katherine, the third
largest town in the Territory
and hub of the region’s cattle
and farming industries. An
evening stop is made at
Adelaide River where you may
purchase dinner (own expense).
You may like to sample the
famous ‘Barra and Chips’,
before returning to Darwin. |

Leaving Darwin, we follow the
Stuart Highway via the
township of Batchelor to
Litchfield National Park.
Visiting the main falls of the
Park, you have the opportunity
for scenic and interpretive
bush and monsoon vine forest
walks. View Florence Falls
from a high vantage point
before making your way down
the stairs to the plunge pool
below with an opportunity to
swim, making your way back via
the monsoon forest and open
woodland. We travel to Buley
Rockhole where you can take
this opportunity to swim in
the many rock pools and also
visit Tolmer Falls for a
magnificent view of the water
cascading down to the deep
waterhole below. We venture to
Wangi Falls for another
opportunity for a swim in the
large crystal clear pool and
an optional steady climb
through the rainforest to the
top of the falls. A great day
also for taking many
interesting photos, including
the amazing stand of termite
mounds. A picnic style lunch
and plenty of swimming will
ensure a fun and educational
day. In the late afternoon,
the group returns to Darwin.

This tour is ideal for
people with limited time to
give a glimpse of what
Kakadu has to offer. The
itinerary has been designed
to allow sufficient time for
you to fully appreciate the
attractions visited. Turning
off the Stuart Highway, we
travel along the Arnhem
Highway passing the major
river systems and wetland
regions into Kakadu National
Park. After crossing the
South Alligator River we
begin to explore the World
Heritage Area of Ubirr Rock
where we climb up through
the ancient Aboriginal rock
art galleries with
interesting and informative
commentary from your guide,
to the lookout for the
famous view over surrounding
wetlands. We then visit the
Bowali Visitor Centre with
informative displays, and
continue to Cooinda to join
Kakadu’s fabled Yellow Water
Wetlands Cruise to
experience the beauty of the
Kakadu wetlands. Late
afternoon we make our way
out of Kakadu National Park,
viewing Jabiru Township and
pausing for an evening snack
(own expense) at the Bark
Hut Inn. Arrive Darwin mid
evening. |
