Your special day on the Riesling Trail leaves the urban sprawl of the city and heads north, through the agricultural and pastoral lands of the States mid-north into the vine draped slopes of the Clare Valley. Arriving in the 1840's, migrant Jesuit Monks settled in Sevenhill and established a winery making 'Altar Wine' from some of the earliest vine plantings, a tradition that has not eroded over time. Spanning the length of the valley, a 27km section of disused railway provides access to the Riesling Trail and an array of Clare Valley wineries that offer crisp, fruitful wines that will not only surprise but also delight the palate. The clean air environment is also popular for producing a range of farm fresh products with real flavour and character. You personalised tour will visit a couple of these suppliers.
