The
iconic state,
home to Sydney
and its
astonishing
harbour. Home
too, to the
Blue
Mountains, the
wineries of
the Hunter
Valley, the
outback centre
of Broken Hill
and some of
the
country’s
most vibrant
beach resorts.
This state,
above all
others offers
the visitor
the
opportunity to
experience a
broad range of
Australiana
within a
relatively
compact
region.
Sydney
is probably
Australia’s
best known
city, and
every visitor
leaves
enchanted. But
beyond the
metropolitan
area there are
gorgeous
regions to
explore. The
Blue Mountains
lie only forty
miles or so
the west, and
are home to
stunning
countryside,
accommodation
and an
opportunity to
immerse
yourself into
the pulse of
the nation.
Head way out
west, by
train, plane
or automobile
and find
yourself in
Broken Hill. A
mining town,
and home to a
number of
delightful
artists
including the
famous Pro
Hart; join the
locals for a
beer in the
legion, and
spend the day
exploring the
ghost town of
Silverton, or
the opal
fields at
White Cliffs.
Head north
from Sydney
and find
yourself in
one of the
beach
communities
that punctuate
the coast all
the way to the
Queensland
border; relax,
chill out and
enjoy a shrimp
from the
barbie!
Heading
south from
Sydney, you
can enjoy the
coastal route
to Melbourne;
truly one of
the
country’s
most
spectacular
and diverting
journeys, you
will be awe
struck by the
scenery and
the people you
will meet en
route.
New
South Wales
really does
offer an
unlimited
supply of
experiences,
variety and
opportunity.
